Hexagram 56 · Lü · The Wanderer

The Wanderer: small success. The wanderer's perseverance: good fortune. 1. The wanderer tangled in trifles — thus he brings misfortune upon himself. 2. The wanderer comes to an inn — has his property and a young servant's devotion. 3. The wanderer's inn burns — loses his young servant. Perseverance: danger. 4. The wanderer rests — finds his property and axe. My heart is not glad. 5. Shooting a pheasant — one arrow lost. In the end: honor and office. 6. Bird's nest burns. The wanderer laughs at first, then wails. Loses the cow through carelessness. Misfortune.
